Heels are Deeper Than You Think
The first promo for my show in Bravo “Pregnant in Heels” ran on Monday night. Besides the obvious complete weirdness of seeing one’s self on television and analyzing why my eyebrows are apparently completely uneven, along with other absurdities and over analytical insecurities, I realized that I haven’t actually sat down in the whirlwind of filming to really think about what is about to happen. I think the potential enormity of it all hit me as I started to watch the twitter twatter on Monday night and realized there is going to be no more nipping to Starbucks looking like a bag lady.
Clearly most people at this point are responding to the title of the show and either loving it or thinking it absurd, I’d like to point out, however, that wearing heels while pregnant – I am a big fan of wedges – actually takes the pressure off the old pesky sciatic nerve. So heels are glam but completely practical too….okay not completely. The show is also much deeper than simply pregnant women in heels, as it follows sixteen of my clients through the last weeks of their pregnancies. And while the requests they have of me may seem funny and insane, the underlying issues and concerns are the same as those experienced by all expecting moms and dads: How can I be the best parent I can be and give my child the best life possible? It is my job to help give them the confidence and wherewithal to do this?
My hope is that through the show people realize there is help out there (and not just for east coast elite) and I can help them. So just remember, pregnant lovelies in heels can be deep too!
