Is Lena Headey’s Pregnancy a Game of Thrones Spoiler?
Game of Thrones Spoiler?
Winter isn’t just coming, it’s here, people! Game of Thrones star Lena Headey (aka Cersei Lannister) just announced she’s pregnant with her second baby, and a lot of people in my life can’t stop talking about what that’s going to mean for the show. Lena’s character may be a mother, but she’s achem, not the most modest of mums, you might say—and any major changes in her body could be tricky to cover for an entire season.
So, how will Game of Thrones writers handle this? Will Cersei Lannister be pregnant as well? Here’s what I think is going to happen with the show. I’ve seen reports saying that filming for each new season typically begins in July, and Lena has said she’s due in the summer—so that could lead me to one of two conclusions. Either they’re going to push back filming on season six so that one of the show’s biggest stars can give birth, spend some time with her new babe, and then get back to lights-camera-action . . . or maybe Cersei Lannister will meet her demise during season five (It debuts in April, and I mean, who knows with that show!), meaning Lena’s pregnancy won’t affect anything either way.
What I do hope for is that Lena is allowed the privacy and respect she’s requested during her pregnancy. We can speculate all we want about her fictional character, but let’s let the lady enjoy this time without a ton of prying and weird scrutiny.
