I can’t help being just a little obsessed with Fashion Week—the buzz, the parties, the new collections, the amazing street style! Even if I’m too busy running back and forth to doctor’s appointments or playdates, I still make a point to spend some me-time in the evenings looking at all the runway shows (thank goodness for the internet, right?!). Anyway, I don’t normally geek out this much on fashion with you guys, but after watching the shows in Milan (via my trusty iPad—I wish I could have escaped this winter!), there was something I just had to share with you.

The famous fashion house Dolce & Gabbana called their runway show “The Mother,” and included three models walking the runway with their own children, as well as one of their models, the stunning Bianca Balti, ruling the runway with her baby bump firmly on board. Anytime you’ve got real moms on the runway, I’m a delighted woman. Plus, the fashion itself is simply fantastic—sophisticated and romantic dresses covered in decadent red roses, and reproductions of children’s drawings of houses, cats, and trees.

I was so moved and felt so happy just looking at these wonderful creations. You know why? Because it really does feel like the designers created these as a celebration of the beauty, grace, and timelessness of mothers. If you want to feel celebrated, too, I highly suggest you take a peek!
