Would You Leave Your Kid With Lindsay Lohan?
Would You Leave Your Kid with Lindsay Lohan?
My jaw nearly dropped to the floor when I read where Lindsay Lohan was serving her latest community service stint, and you might not believe it either. The troubled starlet is currently whittling down her hours of service at a Brooklyn daycare center!
My first thought, to be honest, was Dear God, who decided THAT was a good idea? She”s a loose cannon who at times can barely take care of herself. Actually, at times she”s proven she”s actually incapable of taking care of herself—let alone a child! I mean, is it even safe to have her there? I would be irate if my children attended that daycare and I heard she was coming!
But then I took a step back and watched a clip from her Oprah show (full disclosure, I didn”t watch when it was on TV!), which featured her working at the same daycare center, and I”ve changed my tune a little. She”s good with the little boy she”s playing with in the clip—patient, loving—and he seems to truly light up around her. She talks about the impact she”s having, and seems genuine in wanting to give back in the best online casino world. (Plus, well, there is the fact that she”s not being left alone to care for these kiddos solo—regular staffers are around all the time to supervise, whew!)
Lindsay Lohan has had some spectacular fails in the past decade, but then she also had a very shaky childhood and grew up way too soon. Maybe connecting with kids, and nurturing them, can help her turn a new leaf just as it helps the little ones feel supported, cared for, and loved. Addiction is a terrible disease, but it doesn”t have to make you a bad person. And it certainly shouldn”t leave a black mark on your record for life.
Children are the most forgiving creatures on earth. All they do is love and look for love in return. To them, Lindsay Lohan is not a tabloid fixture—all they know is how they see her now, as a young, smiling woman there to help and have fun. Perhaps we can all learn a thing or two from the kiddos and stop judging so much. Stop letting the past define us and those around us and take life day by day.
Here”s the clip of Lindsay at the daycare center:
What do you think? If your kids went to that daycare, would you pull them out? Would you leave your children with Lindsay Lohan? Let”s get talking in the comments.
