Will Your Doc Be This Dedicated to Deliver Your Baby?
When it comes to giving birth, we all want to make sure we have the most qualified, educated, and practiced professionals on hand—but there”s never a guarantee that the doctor we choose will be able to be there when the moment comes to deliver your baby. That said, one very heroic Texas doctor proved that when it comes to bringing wee one”s into the world, he”s willing to go through hell and literally high water to make sure he”s the one on hand.
Dr. Bassem Maximos was on his way to the hospital to the babies of two of his patients when flood waters caused his car to stall online casino out. When he opened the door to his car and water rushed in, he didn”t freak out about his ruined upholstery, instead, he stood up in the waist-high water and started walking toward the hospital, half a mile away, where his patients were waiting.
A little over an hour later, Dr. Maximos arrived at the hospital (he had stopped to help a man experiencing chest pains along the way—you know, just like Superman would do)—then, in comic book hero fashion, he changed out of his now-drenched clothes into his scrubs and delivered those two babies. Whew!
I have a feeling Dr. Maximos has maxed out on new patients since this story broke—seriously, if I lived in Texas and was having another wee one, I”d want this man on my team! I”m sure that other experienced and capable doctors were on hand at the hospital just in case he couldn”t make it, but the dedication and heart of this doctor set him apart from the others in my eyes.
