Princess Charlotte vs Prince George: Are Girls Easier Than Boys?
Are Girls Easier Than Boys?
You all must know by now that I eat up every bit of info on the adorable Royal Babies as I can, but a recent comment made by Prince Charles got me thinking about the very nature of baby boys and girls. The Royal Grandpa was overheard at a recent tea saying that Princess Charlotte is much easier than her older brother, Prince George, was at her age, going on to say that the one month old already sleeps through the night.
While that must be such a relief to Kate (I know firsthand that having more than one tiny one can be tricky come bedtime!), I couldn’t help but wonder if there’s something to the old wive’s tale that says baby girls are easier than boys. Having two of each myself, I can say they all had their own unique personalities, even as tiny babes, and it’s hard for me to say who was “easier” than who.
Still, after doing some digging, I discovered that studies have shown that male infants “smile less than female infants and display more irritability, crying, facial grimacing” as well as more volatile emotional states. We’ve already heard that Prince George is a mischievous little tyke, so hopefully sweet Princess Charlotte will teach him a thing or two about letting Mom and Dad get some rest!
