An Important Consideration Before Your Birth

This post is sponsored by ViaCord

Rosie Pope - ViaCord - Blog #3 ImagePreparing for your baby’s arrival can feel a bit overwhelming at times – trust me, I know! With so many things to consider, like which baby gear you’ll need, how to decorate the nursery or what pediatrician to use – it’s enough to make your head spin. Of course, all of those things are necessary but truly one of the most important decisions to consider during pregnancy is investing in your baby’s future health by choosing to save his or her umbilical cord blood.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to educate yourself on the many options you have as you become a parent. There are so many important decisions to be made and you need to decide what makes the most sense for your family. I emphasize “your” because this is your family and you get to decide what is best for them but education about the facts will help you make informed decisions you are confident about. One of these decisions is whether or nto to bank your baby’s umbilical cord blood and tissue. You may think learning about cord blood requires a science background or is a time consuming process. It’s quite the contrary, however. When it comes to learning about cord blood, there are really a few important things to know – and that’s why I’m here to help!

In this short video I explain why cord blood is so special and provide a quick breakdown of your options. I also give tips on what to look for in a family cord blood bank. (It can be challenging and it may leave you wondering, “Does the company really matter?” Spoiler alert – the answer is YES! Check out this Infographic to see why.
